Takenoko For Tohoku 2
Takenoko For Tohoku 2
It’s been almost a year since the ground-shaking, wave-breaking, plume-emitting catastrophe of March 11, 2011.
The disaster is not over yet. Lies, in-fighting, uncertainty and desperation still outpace restoration and rejuvination.
And radiation.
Sigh… Here in 山口, we count our blessings.
Last year, at the season’s catastrophe’s urge, I started a personal project: Takenoko For Tohoku. Then, the roots were dug, and sold by donation at のむの, Hofu’s most respectable disreputable watering hole.
This year, I Want You.
I want you to come up The Mountain and dig with me. To dig and sweat. For Tohoku. For one hour, horihoudai.
It’ll cost.
It’ll cost a minimum donation of 1,000円. The money goes North. To Tohoku.
- Date: End of March/All of April
- Place: The Mountain

we were just talking about you and wandering down! If you’re game for two urbanites who like to get dirty, give me a shout. If you leave a comment on my blog with your email I won’t publish it, of course, and we can chat. Great idea!
You’re more than welcome to come down, Joan. I’ll contact you over at Popcorn Homestead.
Cheers!
