The Devil’s In The House Of The Rising Sun

September 7, 2011

The Devil’s In The House Of The Rising Sun

Detta. The garlic likker of 2011 is, cue the music, Here.

Run for the mountains hills!

First banished to the darkness of the pantry, then, proving too odious a cellmate, purged to the corrugated Wasteland of The Rusty Shed, this most vile, most insidious demon has for the last three months, bubbled, boiled, toiled and turned.

Now, It’s Arisen.

Please pity the children. For it was at Kento’s 3rd birthday party (the BBQ shindig mentioned below) that this menace broke free.

“Shodouyouwannadrinksomegarliclikkerthen?” is a word – a damned (and rather long word) – that will shurely live in infamy.  But, as most wives know, anything goes when a cabal of drinking fathers gather round hot coals.

After-the-event, redemptive straws, partially remembered and very much clutched at, include;  “Zatsafineidea”, “Goonthenwhythehellnot?”; and “Eeeeeeeeganbarimashou!”, the sole voice of reason saying “Betterputsomemoresaussagesonthegrillthen”.

So IT came.

IT saw.

IT bloody well conquered.

On the bright side, there’s been no deaths by vampire reported in the prefecture over the last few days… the caveat is that reports are coming in that some wives may have come close to perishing through Death By Garlic Snoring…

Shorryboutdat!

Shots through the heart...

Cheers!

Nice The Animals, Iron Maiden, Soundgarden and Bon Jovi references.

      Hey Tavis,

I’m not sure where you got all the musical references from (with the exception of The Animals). Could you point them out for me?

The title is actually a line from The Charlie Daniels Band’s song “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”… It’s a good accompaniament to moonshine… ;)

      Cheers,

      Tom
